A donation of 900 books to Jefferson City second-grade classrooms will help initiate ag literacy in early childhood education. Missouri Soybeans outreach and education director Baylee Siegel says that the donation of “Pod to Plate” books will show young readers the lifecycle of a soybean from planting to end use. JC Schools Foundation executive director Ashley Varner agrees that the books are an important step in helping children better understand agriculture.
