The focus for significant weather now turns toward the North, where a pair of fast-moving disturbances will deliver snow showers, mixed precipitation and gusty winds. Although precipitation will be generally light, wind-blown snow could result in periodic travel disruptions and livestock stress, mainly from the northern Plains into northern New England and including portions of the Great Lakes region. Meanwhile, some mid-week snow showers should fall in the Rockies. In contrast, dry weather will prevail during the next 5 days west of the Rockies and from the central and southern Plains into much of the Southeast.
