Nearly two dozen national and state ag groups are suing the EPA over its decision to revoke all tolerances of the insecticide chlorpyrifos.

The American Farm Bureau, American Soybean Association, American Sugarbeet Growers and the Cherry Marketing Institute are leaders in the lawsuit seeking an injunction of the rule to prevent what they call “significant, irreparable damage” it would cause if it were to take effect on February 28th.

The groups ultimately want the rule vacated where they say it conflicts with “well-established, properly developed science.” There are 11 uses of chlorpyrifos found to be safe.
