A pair of low-pressure systems will maintain unsettled U.S. weather conditions for much of the week, while cold air will gradually overtake much of the country. The initial storm system will cross northern New England by mid-week. The second storm, should follow a more southerly path across the central and southern Plains, reaching the Tennessee Valley by Thursday night and southern New England late Friday. Both low-pressure systems will feature a sharp temperature gradient, with cold, wind, and snow to the north and warm, humid, rainy weather to the south.
