Direct cash cattle trade activity has been slow to develop this week. Bids are at $144 live and $227 dressed in the North. The rest of cattle country has been quiet. Asking prices are around $144 to $145 live in the South and $230 plus dressed in the North. Look for business to pick up as the week progresses. Today’s Fed Cattle Exchange was a non-starter with 2,037 head offered and zero head sold. High bids ranged from $140 to $143.50, but reserve prices were not met.
