Direct cash cattle trade is off to a slow start again. There are just a few bids noted at $143 live in Eastern Nebraska. There was a very light trade reported in the North on Wednesday with dressed deals at $227, $1 higher than last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska. Live business was at $144, roughly $2 higher than last week’s weighted averages. The South was quiet on Wednesday. Asking prices are at $144 to $145 live in the South and $229 to $230 dressed in the North.
