Another winter-weather event lingers into Friday from the eastern Great Lakes region into the Northeast. Moisture overrunning a shallow layer of cold air lead to freezing drizzle or freezing rain from central Texas into the Ohio Valley and parts of the Northeast. In some areas, ice accumulations lead to significant travel and electrical disruptions, with some of the greatest impacts on the Ozark Plateau and neighboring areas. Farther north, snow blanketed portions of the Midwest.
