Direct cash cattle trade is relatively quiet, while bids have been slow to surface in much of cattle country there were a few that surfaced in parts of Texas at $140 live. Those are well below asking prices of $144 live in the South. The North remains quiet. Business is expected to pick up as the week progresses. Today’s Fed Cattle Exchange had an offering of 1,950 head of which 35 actually sold at $132, the rest did not meet reserve prices.
