A quiet Friday so far for direct cash cattle trade activity.  Bids are non-existent.  Asking prices are around $141 to $142 live in the South and $226-plus dressed in the North.  While the bulk of the week’s business has wrapped up, there could be a little cleanup trade trickle in before the end of the day.  Deals in the South this week were at mostly $140 live, $2 lower than last week’s weighted averages.  Northern dressed trade was at mostly $225, also $2 lower than last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
