Direct cash cattle market are quiet. The day’s big feature will be the distribution of the show list. Last week’s business was mostly at $140 on the live basis and $225 dressed, $2 lower than the previous week’s respective weighted averages. This week’s widespread trade is expected to wait until at least Wednesday.
Boxed beef was higher at midday with choice up $.49 at $254.82 and select $.68 higher at $249.09. The choice/select spread is $5.73.
