A storm system in the Northwest will propagate southeastward, delivering heavy, mid-week snow across portions of the Intermountain West and central sections of the Rockies and Plains. During the second half of the week, heavy snow will blanket parts of the Midwest and Northeast, while heavy showers and locally severe thunderstorms should sweep across the Southeast. Two-storm, five-day rainfall totals could locally reach 2 to 6 inches in the Southeast, including drought-affected areas in northern Florida.
