A storm system traversing the Midwest will begin to weaken and will drift north of the Great Lakes region by Thursday night. Meanwhile, a low-pressure system will develop along the storm’s trailing cold front and race northward, maintaining showery weather along the Atlantic Seaboard through Thursday and across New England into Friday. Additional rainfall could total 1 to 2 inches or more in the Atlantic Coast States and portions of the Great Lakes region.
