Showery weather will linger in the Northeast into Friday. Thereafter, unusually cool air will overspread the Midwest and Northeast, preceded by scattered rain and snow showers. Late in the weekend and early next week, hard freezes (28°F or below) should occur throughout the Midwest and Northeast, while temperatures could fall to 32°F or below deep into the interior Southeast, including the Tennessee Valley. Meanwhile, much of the remainder of the country will experience dry weather and above-normal temperatures.
