It’s a quiet Friday for direct cash cattle trade activity. It’s likely the bulk of the week’s business has wrapped up, however, a little cleanup trade could take place before the end of the day. Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are around $140 live in the South and $223 dressed in the North. Southern live deals for the week were at $138, fully steady with the previous week’s weighted averages. Dressed deals have been at mostly $221, steady/weak with the prior week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
