The USDA reports week to week crop condition improvements in Kansas.
As of Sunday, winter wheat is rated 36% fair and 32% good to excellent, compared to just 25% good to excellent the week before.
Topsoil moisture is rated 44% adequate, up from 33% the week before as most of the state continues to battle drought conditions.
The agency also reports the start of corn planting in Kansas with 1% of the crop put in the ground last week.
