Direct cash cattle trade activity has been quiet following the business that took place on Wednesday. More trade is expected to develop yet this week. Bids are at $138 to $142 live and $221 to $222 dressed. Asking prices are around $140 live in the South and $225 plus dressed in the North. So far this week Southern live deals have been at $137 to mostly $138, generally steady with last week’s business. Northern dressed trade has had a range of $221 to $225, generally steady to $4 higher than last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
