A slow-moving storm system emerging from the northern and eastern Plains will reach the Great Lakes region late in the week. Additional rainfall could total 1 to 2 inches in the lower Midwest and 1 to 3 inches in much of the eastern U.S., with significantly higher amounts possible in the Southeast. Accumulating snow may occur around mid-week in the upper Great Lakes region. Farther south, locally severe weather—including flash flooding, high winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes—will accompany the Southeastern rainfall Wednesday into Thursday.
