Direct cash cattle trade is quiet following the light business that’s taken place so far this week.  Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are around $139 to $140 live in the South and $225-plus dressed in the North.  Look for at least a little more trade to take place over the balance of the week.  Deals this week have been at mostly $138 live, fully steady with last week’s business.  Dressed deals have been at mostly $222, roughly steady with last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
