The National Weather Service has issued Freeze Warnings for early Saturday from the east-central Plains into the mid-South and lower Midwest.  The freeze-warned area covers portions of Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, and Illinois—and could be extended to other areas.  Farther north, Saturday’s low temperatures could fall below 20°F in parts of the upper Midwest.  Meanwhile, weekend frost could reach into northern sections of Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia, as well as parts of the Carolinas, potentially threatening blooming fruits and other sensitive crops.
