Rain and cold temperatures limited fieldwork this week in Indiana, according to the latest USDA crop progress and condition report.

The average temperature was 45.1 degrees, 1.2 degrees below normal for the state. Statewide precipitation was 0.8 inches, 0.2 inches below normal.

Topsoil moisture is 99 percent and subsoil moisture is 96 percent adequate to surplus.

Sixty-two percent of the winter wheat crop is rated good to excellent.
