Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of below-normal temperatures nearly nationwide. Warmer-than-normal weather will be confined to an area stretching from southern California to the central and southern Rockies.
Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation throughout the nation’s mid-section and the Southwest should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in northern California, the lower Rio Grande Valley, the Northwest, and the East.
