Direct cash cattle trade activity is quiet following two days of light to moderate business. Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are around $140-plus live in the South and $230 dressed in the North. While the bulk of the week’s business has wrapped up, there could be a little cleanup trade trickle in before the end of the week. Dressed deals this week have been at $224 to $231, mostly $225 to $226, $2 to $3 higher than last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
