Direct cash cattle trade activity is off to a typically quiet start. Buyers and sellers were busy taking inventory. Bids and asking prices have yet to be established. It’s likely significant trade volume will be delayed until midweek or later. Last week’s business was at mostly $139 live, $1 higher than the prior week’s weighted averages and mostly $225 to $226 dressed, generally $2 to $3 higher than the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
