Adverse conditions are limiting fieldwork in southeast Minnesota.
Red Wing area farmer Les Anderson says soils remain wet and cool.
“Not very nice conditions, and of course the soil temperature is a big one as far as corn planting. I haven’t done any measurements, but with air temperatures this cold and freezes overnight basically, it’s not good conditions for planting corn.”
He tells Brownfield a year ago corn planting was done by May 1st and had a good start on soybeans.
