A light direct cash cattle trade has developed around cattle country. Live deals are at $140 in the South, fully steady with last week’s business. Deals in the North are at $232 dressed, about steady with last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska. Some of the deals are marked for delivery next week with others set for the weeks of May 16th and May 23rd. Asking prices are at $142 to $144 live in the South and $235 dressed in the North.
