A low-pressure system lurking over the western Atlantic Ocean will maintain cool, breezy conditions along the middle and southern Atlantic Coast.  In addition, showers may return late in the week across the southern Atlantic States.  Meanwhile, an early-season hot spell across the central and southern Plains and much of the Corn Belt will end during the mid- to late-week period, with lingering heat confined to the South.
