Direct cash cattle trade activity is quiet with bids and asking prices yet to be established.  Buyers and sellers are busy taking inventory.  It’s likely significant trade volume will be delayed until midweek or later.  Last week’s deals ranged from $229 to $234, mostly $232 dressed.  Those were fully steady with the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.  Live deals in the South were at mostly $140, also fully steady with the prior week’s business.
