The Chairman of the Michigan Corn Growers Association says after a six-week delay the planting season has turned into a sprint.

Matt Frostic of Sanilac County tells Brownfield, “In a seven-day period, I’ve never seen so many planters rolling in fields and crops getting put in—a very productive week.

While progress remains behind normal, he says the delayed start helped farmers get the supplies they need and sugarbeets have even started to emerge.
