More than one-third of the Kansas winter wheat crop is being significantly impacted by drought.

USDA’s crop progress and condition report says only 28 percent of the crop is rated good-to-excellent with 95 percent headed.

Corn planting is five percent ahead of last year’s pace at 87 percent with 61 percent emerged.

Fifty-six percent of soybeans have been planted, six percent ahead of last year.

Twenty percent of sorghum has been planted and 12 percent of sunflowers are in.
