It’s a quiet start to the week for direct cash cattle trade activity. Bids and asking prices have been slow to surface as buyers and sellers have been busy taking inventory. Look for more business to develop over the balance of the week. The bulk of last week’s trade took place on Tuesday and Wednesday with Southern live trade at mostly $137, about $1 lower than the previous week’s weighted averages. Northern dressed deals were at mostly $223, about $3 lower than the prior week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
