There’s a light to moderate direct cash cattle trade underway.  Live deals are reported in parts of the South at $137, $1 higher than the rest of the week’s business and $2 higher than last week’s weighted averages.  Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are around $138 live in the South and $228 dressed North.  Deals earlier in the week were marked at $136, $1 higher than last week’s weighted averages.  Northern dressed deals were marked at mostly $225 to $226, $3 to $4 higher than last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
