Michigan farmers continued planting between light rain events last week.
The USDA says 97 percent of the state’s corn crop is planted, compared to 99 percent last year. Eighty-six percent of the crop has emerged.
Ninety percent of soybeans are planted, compared to the five-year-average of 82 percent. Seventy-four percent of the crop has emerged.
Ninety percent of the state’s barley is planted with 74 percent emerged.
The winter wheat crop is 86 percent headed.
