Direct cash cattle trade is quiet at midday with bids and asking prices not yet established.  Buyers and sellers are busy taking inventory.  It’s likely significant trade volume will be delayed until midweek or later.  Live deals in the South were at mostly $136 to $137, $1 to $2 higher than the prior week’s weighted averages.  Northern dressed business was mostly at $225 to $226, $3 to $4 higher than last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
