Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of below-normal temperatures in the Northeast and much of the West, while hotter-than-normal conditions will cover the Plains, Midwest, mid-South, and Southeast.
Meanwhile, widespread below-normal precipitation across of the eastern half of the U.S. should contrast wetter-than-normal weather in much of the West, especially in the Four Corners region and the northern Rockies.
