A Western Corn Belt farmer says Mother Nature has been relentless after another round of severe storms moved across the area Tuesday night.

“It’s been a rough couple of weeks.”

Eastern Nebraska farmer Mitch Oswald tells Brownfield severe winds and hail over the last week have destroyed nearly 700 acres of corn, soybeans and sorghum. “I’ve got the disk hooked up and I’m ripping fields now to replant.”

He says the damage has been widespread, especially to his southern farms.
