Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for near- or above-normal temperatures and near- or below-normal precipitation across most of the country.  Areas most likely to experience hotter-than-normal weather will extend northward from the Gulf Coast into the southern Corn Belt, while cooler-than-normal conditions will be confined to New England and the Pacific Northwest. 

Meanwhile, wetter-than-normal weather should be limited to an area stretching from the Four Corners region into the western Corn Belt.
