The Illinois Association of Vocational Agriculture Teachers is celebrating 100 years in 2022.
Jim Craft served as Executive Director of the organization from 1990-2015. He tells Brownfield the anniversary is a good time to reflect on their roots and how to grow from here.
“See what aims and purposes it had way back in 1922 and whether those are still valid. If so, let’s reinforce those and if not let’s pick new goals for the next 100 years.”
Craft says he has enjoyed seeing an increase in female teachers over the years but diversity is still something to be improved upon moving forward.
