While temperatures and humidity levels soared last week, the USDA says Ohio farmers all but completed the last of their intended plantings.

Ninety-seven percent of the state’s corn crop is planted, compared to 100% last year. Eighty-eight percent of the crop has emerged.

Ninety percent of soybeans are planted, compared to the five-year average of 89 percent. Seventy-four percent of the crop has emerged.

Ninety-seven percent of the winter wheat crop is headed, and 22 percent is mature.
