A Northeast Nebraska farmer says some crops are showing signs of heat stress from hot and dry conditions.
Greg Anderson of farms near Newman Grove. “And, with this heat here, that’s recently been in the 90s with the strong south wind, it’s really taken some moisture out. I’ve noticed a lot of pivots going for guys who irrigate. They’re putting water on both corn and beans.”
USDA says corn and soybean conditions are rated 68 percent good-to-excellent, but winter wheat is seen at 25 percent good-to-excellent.
