Minnesota farmers impacted by last year’s drought have one more day to request financial assistance.
Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen tells Brownfield livestock producers and specialty crop growers can apply for up to $7,500 in grants.
“July 6th, (enrollment) closes at 5 o’clock. We’ve been seeing about 100 or so applications a day, coming in really strong and it’s great to see those applications coming in.”
Signup is online through the Department of Agriculture’s drought relief page and Petersen tells Brownfield about 70 percent of the applicants are livestock producers.
