Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions in much of the Midwest.
Meanwhile, above-normal rainfall in many areas of the country, notably across much of the South, East, and Intermountain West, should contrast with drier-than-normal weather in the Pacific Northwest, as well as the northern Plains and Midwest.
