A Northeast Nebraska farmer says she fears there’s not end in sight to rising production costs.  

“Costs are significantly up.  That weighs on you.”

Anne Meis who raises corn and soybeans says rising diesel prices have been an unexpected expense.

She tells Brownfield they had to start irrigating ahead of planting and pivots have hardly been shut off since. “To keep these irrigation engines , keep our equipment running, we’re talking at least $1,000 to fill up the combine this fall.
