Direct cash cattle business is at a standstill following the moderate trade that took place earlier in the week. Some cleanup trade could trickle in before the end of the day, but it isn’t likely. Asking prices for what’s left on showlists are around $138 live in the South and $232-plus dressed in the North. Deals this week have been at mostly $137 live in the South, about steady with the previous week’s weighted averages.
