Cash cattle trade has yet to kick off with buyers and sellers likely busy taking inventory. Bids and asking prices aren’t established. The bulk of this week’s business could come Wednesday or later as market players get a chance to digest last week’s cattle reports.

Boxed beef is higher at midday with choice up $1.38 at $268.50 and select up $1.02 at $243.52. The choice/select spread is $24.98.

In Nebraska last week, steers sold steady, and heifers were unevenly steady compared to the prior week.
