Direct cash cattle trade remains quiet early in the Tuesday session. The bulk of the week’s business will likely come Wednesday or later. Asking prices are around $138 in the south but are not yet established in the north. Beef cutouts are expected to gain support with light to moderate box movement.
Boxed beef is mixed at midday. Choice is $1.66 higher at $269.77 and select is $.30 lower at $244.70. The Choice/Select spread is $25.07.
