Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions in the Desert Southwest.
Meanwhile, near- or above-normal rainfall across the West and much of the eastern U.S. should contrast with drier-than-normal weather across the Plains and northern and western Corn Belt, as well as the Northeast and portions of the Gulf Coast region.
