Iowa’s climatologist says Mother Nature has changed its short-term plans.

Justin Glisan tells Brownfield the initial outlook for August signaled some moisture relief for farmers, but… “There’s now very high probabilities of warmer than average temperatures, and that’s basically coupled with a dry signal,” he said. “Hopefully, we can squeeze some rain out of the atmosphere this week to get some moisture availability down there.”

He says crops are looking good overall, but northwest Iowa producers have faced some challenges.
