Scattered rain brought moisture to some parts of Iowa last week, but dry conditions continue to stress crops and pastures.

USDA says farmers harvested corn for silage and cut hay, with the third cutting now 40 percent done.

More than 70 percent of the corn crop is at the dough stage or beyond, three days behind last year but slightly ahead of the five-year average.

Corn considered good to excellent dropped seven percentage points on the week to 66 percent.
