At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle were mixed and feeders were up, watching corn and the direct markets. October live cattle closed $.12 lower at $143.65 and December live cattle closed $.10 lower at $149.90. September feeder cattle closed $1.22 higher at$184.25 and October feeder cattle closed $1.07 higher at $185.52.
Following back-to-back days of light to moderate business, direct cash cattle trade was relatively quiet on Thursday. There were a few live deals reported in the South at $141.50 live and in the North at $230 dressed.
