It’s another really quiet start for direct cash cattle business. Bids have yet to surface. Asking prices are at $144 live in the South, while the North still isn’t fully established. There was some very light, scattered trade that took place on Tuesday with dressed deals at $230, but that’s not near enough to establish a trend. More business is expected to pick up as the day progresses. Today’s Fed Cattle Exchange was another non-starter with 1,204 head offered, none of which sold. Reserve prices were at $141 to $142, which were not met.
